Poking death with a stick, being a goddess and related activities — 4 Comments

  1. Thank you for sharing your journey. ‘both are true’ is a concept that I live with and that I lived in when taking care of my mother who died from COPD. One morning I was whistling while unloading the dishwasher and my brother asked me how I could be happy. I tried to explain that in that moment ‘everything was fine’ – we were having coffee, Mom had slept well and was feeling fine, we were going to have orange juice, toast, and bacon – her favorite breakfast – in a few minutes, we were together, the sun was shining. He didn’t really understand. This was a view my mother and I shared. Your article captures that feeling – reminded me of my living in two places at once – reminded me that we are always living in two situations at one time. I will keep you in my prayers.

    • Thank you, Laura, that is beautifully expressed. Living with uncertainty, for me, has been a spiritual experience, not one to feared or made comfortable! I’m publishing my latest blog today, and haven’t been on here for quite sometime, so apologies for the delay in reply and I hope you enjoy the new blog!
